Aims and Principles
| |
THE AIMS OF THE CAB ARE:
To ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilites or of the services available to them, or through an inability to express their needs effectively.
And equally
To exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally.
|
| Principles of the Service: |
Free |
Our services are free at the point of use. We will never charge for the advice we give, nor for any of the services we provide |
Independent |
We are independent of central and local government. Although we receive funding from the local council, we are an individually registered charity and are not permitted to accept any funding that affects our independence.
|
Impartial |
We do not take sides, but we will act in the best interests of our clients. For this reason, we are unable to act for both parties in a dispute, but if contacted by the other party, we can refer them to another CAB or appropriate agency for advice. |
Confidential |
We will not tell anyone outside the CAB service what you have told us, or even that you have visited us unless you say that we can.
|
| Equal Opportunities: |
| |
Our service is committed to Equal Opportunities both in providing services to the public and also as an employer. We are committed to opposing any discrimination on the basis of race, colour, gender or disability. We seek to implement this policy in all aspects of our work.
|
We don't charge, we don't judge and we don't tell! |
